My overall experience during this internship was incredibly positive. I gained valuable insights into startup culture and had the unique opportunity to work closely with both the CEO and CTO, which allowed me to understand the strategic decision-making processes firsthand. Additionally, I learned a great deal about venture capitals, which was both exciting and educational. The numerous networking opportunities that came my way were particularly beneficial, as they allowed me to connect with a wide range of professionals in the industry.

Initially, I expected the internship to be fast-paced with a steep learning curve, and I anticipated that there would be plenty of in-person opportunities to engage with the team and the broader startup community. These expectations aligned well with my actual experience. From the start, I was immersed in a dynamic environment where there was always something new to learn. The pace was indeed rapid, and the hands-on opportunities provided a perfect match for what I was hoping to gain from the internship.

A typical day during my internship was quite varied, which kept things interesting and engaging. A very busy day would consist of by attending meetings and taking minutes during meetings, which allowed me to stay updated on the latest developments and decisions. Beyond that, I frequently assisted with spontaneous tasks that needed an extra hand, which gave me exposure to a diverse range of responsibilities. In addition, there were always outgoing and fun events to attend, which not only provided a break from work but also offered valuable networking opportunities and insight into the company culture.

Throughout the internship, I acquired a deeper understanding of how running a startup works and the complexities involved in developing an app. I learned about the various stages of app development, from conceptualisation to execution, and gained insights into the challenges that startups face. 

One of the more challenging aspects of my role was arranging meetings that accommodated everyone's schedules. Coordinating with a diverse team, each with their own busy calendar, was sometimes difficult. To overcome this, I relied on constant communication and a proactive approach to the development process. Feedback was always welcomed, which helped ensure that everyone’s expectations were met and that the scheduling process became smoother over time.

This internship has significantly contributed to my professional development. By meeting people from various venture capital firms and learning about the startup ecosystem, I’ve gained valuable connections and knowledge that will be crucial as I continue to pursue a career in this field. The experience has also given me a clearer vision of my future career aspirations.

My biggest accomplishment during this internship was being introduced to venture capitalists, particularly through connections with Antler, and contributing to the successful launch of the app. These experiences were pivotal in broadening my understanding of the startup ecosystem and building my professional network.

The strategy meetings with Amber were incredibly valuable, so I would recommend continuing these sessions for future interns. They provided clear guidance and actionable feedback, which was instrumental in helping me achieve my goals.
